National Trust Gwynedd Mansions Insulation Project

As filmed by S4C Broadcasting, the installation of thousands of metres of Rockwool thermal insulation.

A tricky project to install insulation to all the roof voids at Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd. Although unseen, it was vital that the priceless ceilings of the rooms below were not disturbed and that all the services running in the roof voids remained accessible. Part of this work involved building walkways, stairs and handrails throughout many of the roof voids so that the services could be safely accessed by maintenance workers in the future.
